BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University Senior Women’s Administrator Shelia Crockett has been selected as a Facilitator for the NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Forum, an annual four-day conference designed to bring athletic professionals and student-athletes together in an environment fostering the development of leadership skills.
“I am honored that I was chosen to participate in the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum,” Crockett said. “It is a great opportunity to learn and grow in my professional career as an administrator. I am excited about being able to engage and educate these student-athletes. This is a magnificent opportunity I am being afforded.”
The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators in intentional training and customized sessions to enhance the student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrator’s personal awareness and leadership skills. Crockett will be one of approximately 25 professional staff members from NCAA Institutions who will help lead and facilitate the educational sessions for the student-athletes.
“Shelia is emerging as one of the top female administrators and leaders in Conference Carolinas and the NCAA,” said Athletic Director David Hicks. “This is a tremendous honor for her, and the student-athletes participating in the forum will benefit from the experiences and knowledge she will share.”
Prior to the event, Crockett will go through facilitator training in Indianapolis, Ind., from September 12-15. The 2013 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum is scheduled to take place from November 7-10 in Providence, R.I.
