Cornell Sneed
Title: Assistant Coach

Cornell Sneed came to King University in January 2013 to coach the throwing events after a distinguished career at East Tennessee State University in nearby Johnson City, Tenn.

Sneed, a native of Miami, Fla., was a seven-time all-Atlantic Sun Conference thrower at ETSU, earning medals in discus, shot put, weight throw, and hammer. He ranks fourth all-time in conference history in discus and seventh in shot put and led the team in points scored during the Buccaners' A-Sun outdoor track and field championship season in 2012. He was a member of two indoor track and field, two outdoor track and field, and one cross country championship teams, with all three winning conference titles during the 2009 calendar year.

Sneed's off the field accomplishments may be his most impressive, however. He was a standout in the classroom, named to the ETSU Buccaneer Honor Roll in each of his eight semesters, was a five-time Dean's List qualifier, and was the men's track and field academic MVP in 2012. He was also named to multiple conference all-academic teams and won the Atlantic Sun Commissioner's Scholar Medal. He graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and earned a Master of Arts in Sports Management from ETSU in the fall of 2013. He is currently pusruing a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri.

In his time at King, he has coached nine Conference Carolinas medalists, two conference Athletes of the Year, a Freshman Athlete of the Year, and an All-Region performer.
