Mariya Williams had a double-double Thursday night as the King University women's basketball team extended their winning streak to four with a 61-41 win over Brescia University.
Sarah Thompson had 15 points to lead the Tornado scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period
- Thompson and Williams scored a pair of early buckets, giving King a 4-0 lead.
- Raven Addison hit a three with 3:09 left, followed a short time later by Alexa Gramann hitting a pair of free throws to make it a 17-7 Tornado lead.
- Thompson hit a three with under a minute left, putting King in front 22-12.
Second Period
- It was a good quarter for King, as they outscored the Bearcats 16-5, including scoring the first 13 points.
- King shot 6-of-19 from the field, including an early three from Thompson and a three from Jaelyn West with 1:18 left, putting King in front 38-14.
- Brescia hit a three in the final minute, making the halftime score 38-17.
Third Period
- Ashley Allen and Gramann hit early buckets, putting King in front 42-21 with 7:17 left.
- Brescia would close the quarter on a 11-1 scoring run, pulling to within 43-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
Fourth Period
- King started the quarter on a 9-3 scoring run, with Thompson scoring four of those points and Le'Aije Ellington adding three.
- Williams hit a layup with 4:40 to go, then off a defensive rebound hit another a short time later, making it a 56-38 King lead. With 4:11 remaining.
- She grabbed an offensive board a minute later and hit a turn around jumper, making the King lead 53-38.
- Over the final three minutes, both teams recorded three points, with King winning 61-41.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- It was the second double-double of the season for Williams, who had a season-best 15 rebounds.
- Along with her 16 points, Thompson finished with five rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals on the night.
- Gramann also scored in double figures, scoring 13 points and pulling six rebounds, while Allen had 10 rebounds.
- The Tornado shot a season-best 46.2% from beyond the arc, going 6-of-13 from deep.
FOR THE FOES
- Jenna Krampe, Caroline Lucas and Jordan Joe all had nine points for the Bearcats, with Krampe also pulling 10 rebounds.
- King held the Brescia offense to just 23.6% shooting on the night.

- The Tornado will return to conference play Saturday at North Greenville.
