Bristol, Tenn. — The King University Men's Cross Country team competed at the
2025 Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships on October 24 at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, North Carolina. The Tornado placed 12th overall with a team score of 296 points.
Junior
Lance Hatcher (Maryville, Tenn.
) paced the Tornado lineup, finishing 44th overall in 27:47.28. Sophomore
Cole Johnson (Lexington, N.C.
) followed closely, placing 48th with a time of 27:53.41. Sophomore
Spencer Utsey (Spring Hill, Tenn.) contributed a 57th-place finish in 28:19.94, while junior
Evan Deichert (Knoxville, Tenn.) crossed in 29:00.59 for 79th.
Junior
Luke Childress (Bristol, Tenn.
) added a time of 29:59.65, with freshman
Joshua Hathaway (30:16.82) and freshman
Evan Hayes (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) (31:42.00) rounding out the Tornado competitors.
The Tornado faced a strong field, with UNC Pembroke capturing the team title in 2:10:19.01, followed by Young Harris and Southern Wesleyan.
King University will now turn its attention to the upcoming NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships.
