Baseball v. Mars Hill Rescheduled for Tuesday

Due to incoming weather patterns, King Baseball has changed the Mars Hill game to Tuesday afternoon.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Weather patterns passing through the Tri-Cities area this week haveprompted a schedule change for King University Baseball. Wednesday's home opener against Mars Hill College has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 12. Game time is still 2 p.m.

The Tornado come into Tuesday's game having one each of their two three-game sets to open the 2013 campaign. This weekend, King beat the North Georgia Saints in 2-of-3 to build a 4-2 overall record heading into their home opener.

King is paced offensively by All-Conference third baseman Stephen Mullins (Bluff City, Tenn./Tennessee H.S.) who is currently leading the team with a .476 batting average. Junior outfielder Garrett Cook leads the team with 10 runs batted in and four extra-base hits, including a grand slam he hit against NGU on Saturday.

On the hill, King has had its starters earn wins in three of the team's four games. Cory Rhodes (Kissimmee, Fla.) tossed his first career no-hitter in a 3-0 win over the Saints to open the series on Friday and is currently 1-0 on the season. He leads the starting rotation with 12 strikeouts, averaging 7.71 per game, and earned run average (1.29).
