Day two of the 'Battle in the Boro' featured the criterium races. The B men started things off with some tactical racing and a seventh place finish by Sophomore transfer Zach Maness, Rye Cove Va, with teammate Derek Hurst going solo off the back of the peleton in brutal winds to finish in thirteenth place.
The women picked up right where they left off in day one with all three A women racing to strong finishes led by Kate Ross, Hayward WI, getting pinned in the final turn but finishing with a sprint for second overall. Stephanie Cucaz and Megan Rogers were dropped from the lead group early on but worked together and battled with the remaining girls in the chase group to come across in eighth and nineth places respectively.
The A men fielded what looked to be a very solid team but one by one were dropped from the field until only Julian Cabra and TJ Killelea were left holding the flag for King. Both worked tirelessly to gain some places and much needed points coming fifteenth and sixteenth repectively.
The King team has a short week before they head back south to FSU for the next big race of the season.
