Tornado open road season at Florida

GAINSVILLE, Fla. – The King University cycling team opened their road season this weekend at the University of Florida race. The Tornado turned in a good performance on Saturday, but Sunday the Tornado faced some adversity in rainy conditions for the criterium.

On Saturday, the quartet of Drew Bailey, Reuben Dupre, Zach Maness and Blake Adams turned a stellar performance to take third place in the team time trial event on Saturday. The Tornado also had solid performances from Keely Easterling and T.J. Killelea in the road race and time trial events.

Easterling placed fifth in the road race, and took 3rd in the time trial while Killelea finish eighth in the road race and fifth in the time trial.

Sunday did not go as well for the Tornado as the course was wet for the criterium. Reid Yoder highlighted the day as he raced in the first race of the day, when the conditions were the toughest. He fought through some adversity, but came in with a 10th place finish on the day.

King will be in action again on March 1-2 at the University of Georgia race.
