Caicedo, Rogers ride to wins at Western Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The King University cycling team competed at Western Carolina University over the weekend and had a number of outstanding performances.

On Saturday, the Tornado opened racing with the time trial where Drew Bailey took home a second place finish on the men's side. Jennifer Caicedo turned in a great road race, taking first in the women's category A road race on what was an incredibly difficult course. Kaysee Armstrong faced some mechanical issues and had to finish on a teammate's bike, taking eighth place.

Megan Rogers and Evan Ferrell both turned in stellar rides in the women's category B road race, taking second and third, respectively.

In Sunday's criterium A race, Caicedo took home a third-place finish in a solid weekend of racing. In the B race of the same event, Rogers earned a win in wet, cold conditions to cap a stellar weekend.

The Tornado return to action on April 5 and 6 in an event hosted by Milligan College.
