Three Golfers Named to the All-Conference Team

 

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King College placed three student-athletes on the 2012 All-Conference Golf Team prior to the start of the conference championships this weekend. On that list were men's golfers Josh Bamberger and Adrian Kibsey and women's golfer Esther Gandarias.

Adrian Kibsey (Winnipeg, Manitoba) earned the highest of honors being named to the All-Conference First Team. In eight tournaments this season, the senior averaged a 73.43 scorecard and won two tournaments on the season. He shot a low-18 score of 69 and a low-36 of 139. Kibsey completed the year with three top-5 finishes and four inside the top-10.

Josh Bamberger (Waterloo, Ontario) was named the Third Team after her finished his senior season with three top-5 finishes over eight tournaments. He shot a stroke average of 73.46 and a low 18-hole score of 68 and a low-36 of 141.

Gandarias, a native of Madrid, Spain, was named to the Third Team after an impressive junior season. In eight tournaments, Gandarias shot an average of 84.47 with a low-18 score of 79. She had one top-5 finish.

The Conference Carolinas All-Conference Teams were determined by vote from each Head Coach of participating league institutions.  Nominations were collected and then voted upon by ballot and tallied to determine Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-Conference First Team, All-Conference Second Team and All-Conference Third Team.  Awards were presented at the league golf team banquet at the Conference Tournament Championships co-hosted by Belmont Abbey College and the Woodlake Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C.
