HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – In the third round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, King University’s Richard Powell carded a 79. With a three-round total of 235, Powell did not qualify to advance to the NCAA Championship.
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Richard Powell made history on Monday as he became the first King University men’s golfer to compete in an NCAA Regional Championship. Powell carded a 78 in the first round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional at Mission Inn Resort & Club.
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men’s golf may not have qualified for the NCAA Division II South-Southeast Regional, but senior Richard Powell qualified as an individual. Powell is the first King men's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Only four individuals from each region are selected.
GRAHAM, N.C. – The King University men’s golf team came into the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament in fifth place. The Tornado weren’t able to move up the leader board in the second round as they finished in eighth place with a total of 608 after shooting 300 on the second day.
Graham, N.C. – After the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the King University men’s golf team is in eighth place. The Tornado carded a 308 in the first round, and were led by Ross Maietta and Leennawat Numpituckchaikul and John Scott.
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Announced at the Sports Festival Championship Banquet and Brunch on Saturday morning, two King University golfers earned All-Conference Carolinas honors. On the women’s side, Elizabeth Swallow was named first team all-conference while Richard Powell earned second team honors on the men’s side.
GREENWOOD, S.C. – The King University men’s golf team wrapped up the Bearcat Golf Classic, hosted by Lander University, with a third round score of 300. For the tournament, the Tornado placed 15th of 18 teams with a total of 920. Richard Powell led the Tornado with a three round score of 230.
GREENWOOD, S.C. – Following their second win of the season, the King University men’s golf team shot 620 in the first two rounds of the Bearcat Golf Classic hosted by Lander University. The Tornado are 13th of 18 teams, and were led by Richard Powell who shot 150 in the first two rounds.
WILSON, N.C. – The King University men’s golf team posted their second win of the season after shooting a team score of 297 in the second round of the Barton Intercollegiate at Wilson Country Club. The Tornado finished with a two-day total of 586 to top host school, Barton College by four strokes. Richard Powell’s score of 144 led three King golfers in the top-10 with a third place finish.
WILSON, N.C. – Through one round of the Barton Intercollegiate at Wilson Country Club, the King University men’s golf teams holds the lead in a field of 14 teams. The Tornado were led by Ross Maietta and Taylor Gouge who both shot one-under 71’s, while the team posted a 289.
