HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – In the second round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, King University's Richard Powell turned in his second consecutive score of 78.
The Hixson, Tenn., native got off to a slow start with back-to-back bogeys to start the round. However, Powell birdied the ninth to end his front nine with a score of 40. He regrouped on the back nine, making eight pars and one bogey to shoot a one-over 38 on the back for a total of 78.
Powell is currently in 80th place after two rounds of the three round tournament. The top two individuals that are not on a team that qualifies for the NCAA Men's Golf Championship will advance following Wednesday's round.
