FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – The King University men's golf team competed at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate on Monday, sitting in 11th position of 16 teams heading into Tuesday's final round. Teams played two rounds on Monday and will play one round Tuesday in the 54-hole format.
Leennawat Numpituckchaikul birdied the first hole of the tournament on his way to five birdies in the opening round, shooting three strokes under par overall. He sits in seventh position at even par going into Tuesday's final 18 holes. Mathias Buanes had a solid day, shooting a six-over 148 in 36 holes and sitting in 23rd position. Ross Maietta and Jake Stone finished their days in 157 strokes, while John Scott rounded out the Tornado with a 158-stroke performance.
Lincoln Memorial University leads the tournament at even par, with Flagler University and Tusculum College in pursuit at +8 and +11, respectively. Conference Carolinas members in the tournament include Belmont Abbey College in fifth place and Limestone College in thirteenth position.
Tomorrow's final round will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
