One goal difference as King falls to LMU 1-0

BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College played a fifth straight one-goal contest, this time Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) University scored match's lone goal in a 1-0 setback for the Tornado Wednesday.

In the Tornado's last five matches, King has been outscored 6-1 with four 1-0 losses. The Tornado has not played in five straight one-goal matches in at least five seasons. The 2008 squad had four straight one-goal decisions early in the campaign with a 2-2 record in the stretch.

Jimmy Vandenhurk put the visiting Railsplitters, with a 3-0 record, in front with his score in the 5th minute. Fernando Silveira provided the assist.

Richard Masters (Kent, England) stopped five shots in goal for King. Michael Watkins had four saves for Lincoln Memorial.

King and Lincoln Memorial both had 11 shots.

The Tornado, now at 0-5-1, will play neighboring Virginia Intermont College on Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
