Tornado Falls Against Lincoln Memorial
LMU's Mario Pinto scored a hat trick to lead the Railsplitters in a 5-0 victory over Tornado Men's Soccer, Wednesday afternoon.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King offense struggled in their final non-conference match before the league season opens up this weekend. Lincoln Memorial's Mario Pinto scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Railsplitters to victory against King, 5-0.

The Railsplitters got off to a quick start in the sixth minute when Diego Deschamp bounced a low shot off the post and into the goal to open the scoring.  Pinto then scored in the 12th minute off of a free kick when Deschamp laid the ball off for a Pinto strike into the top corner.

Pinto added goals in the 20th and 72nd minutes to obtain a hat trick and give LMU a 4-0 lead.  Wes Williams capped the scoring in the 80th minute for the Railsplitters.

The Tornado pressured LMU in the form of eight total shots and six corner kicks.  One of those shots came from Devante Walker (Brampton, Ontario) who streaked down the right side of the field with a great run only to have his shot blocked by a defender out of play.  Zachary Clark (Huntsville, Ala.) added a shot on goal for King in the 89th minute.

Tyler Reed was busy in goal for the Tornado, making five saves on the afternoon.  Lincoln Memorial finished the day with 19 total shots and 10 corners.

King opens up Conference Carolinas play on Saturday at Mount Olive College (Mount Olive, N.C.). Start time is slated for 4:00 p.m. and will serve as the first part of a men's/women's doubleheader against the Trojans.
