Tornado Drop 2-0 Decision to Barton
Dante De Luca scored twice for the Barton Bulldogs in their 2-0 victory over the King Tornado. Cameron Sauro returned to the lineup and made three saves for the Tornado.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King allowed a goal early in both the first and second periods in a 2-0 loss to Barton College on Saturday evening. King put seven shot attempts together while Cameron Sauro returned to the lineup between the posts for the Tornado.

King limited Barton to nine shot attempts, combated by their seven, though the Tornado put only one shot on goal to Barton's five. All seven King shot attempts came from a different player. Daniel Grossi (Dundee, Scotland) landed the only King shot on goal.

Dante De Luca scored both Bulldogs goals early in the first and second halves. His first came 3:28 into the contest when a long, free kick sailed in off the foot of Drew Williams and De Luca headed it home past keeper Cameron Sauro.

De Luca's second goal was scored off of consecutive headers stemming from a corner kick opportunity just 3:48 into the second half. Daniel Akeem sent a corner into the air and bounced forward by Archer Bane. Bane's head pass found De Luca, where he finished the job and put it in the back of the net with another header.

Freshman goalkeeper Cameron Sauro (Owen Sound, Ontario) returned to the starting lineup and in his return made three saves on five attempts in 90 minutes played.

King (0-9-0, 0-4-0) will play the second leg of a men's/women's doubleheader against Belmont Abbey at Parks Field on Oct. 4. The men will play following the women, tentatively at 4 p.m.
