Tornado's Harvey awarded NCCAA weekly honor

GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College had this week's NCCAA Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week as Chris Harvey picked up the national award, the organizations office announced.

Harvey, a junior from Columbia, S.C., picked up a 6-1 and 6-0 over Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) University's Nathan Helms as a part of the Mars Hill (N.C.) College Fall Invitational Saturday. The game that Harvey dropped was the first for him this season as he owns a perfect 3-0 match record with a 28-1 record in games so far in 2010.

He is the third straight Tornado player to win the NCCAA weekly award, joining Patrick Jones (Bluff City, Tenn.) and Jose Avila (Cuernavaca, Mexcio)

King improved to 4-0 on the 2010 season thanks to a 9-0 win at Milligan (Tenn.) College Tuesday. Next for the Tornado will be the final event of the fall season, a trip to Lenoir-Rhyne Friday for a 2 p.m. meeting.
