Top-5 NCCAA spot for Tornado Tennis

GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College has the fifth best winning percentage in the NCCAA Men's Tennis Report released by the national office.

The Tornado used a 13-6 record at the time of the report for a winning percentage of .684. North Greenville (S.C.) University was No. 4 with a .778 winning percentage behind a 14-4 record. Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University had the top spot thanks to a 10-1 record and a winning percentage at .909. Spring Arbor (Mich.) University and Campbellsville (Ky.) University were ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

The top five teams were all a part of the 2010 NCCAA Men's Tennis National Tournament.

King's 13 wins at the time of the report was the third most in the ranking behind Spring Arbor's 15 and North Greenville collected 14 so far.

On the women's side King was No. 11 at .579 with an 11-8 record. Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University was No. 10 with a 12-8 record for a .600 winning percentage. The Lady Tornado was one of seven teams of the 26 that reported with at least 10 wins on the season.

Atop the women's ranking was Indiana Wesleyan University with a 20-1 record and a .952 winning percentage. Olivet Nazarene was next at .933. Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College held the No. 3 ranking with a .786 mark with Asbury (Ky.) College No. 4 with a .783 winning percentage.

King won in the home finales for the men's and women's team on Monday over Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) University. The Tornado and Lady Tornado will go to Newberry (S.C.) to close out the regular season Thursday.
