King Tennis sweeps through Belmont Abbey

BELMONT, N.C. - King College won with matching 9-0 scores in men's and women's tennis action Wednesday at future Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey (N.C.) College.

King improved to 12-6 on the men's side while the Lady Tornado left with an 11-7 record. The Tornado and Lady Tornado will go to Coker (S.C.) to play at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Once again King jumped in front with strong doubles' play. The Lady Tornado dropped just one game while the Tornado outscored Belmont Abbey 24-5.

Karissa King (Rockwood, Tenn.) posted a 6-0 and 6-0 win at No. 2 singles while three more Lady Tornado players lost just one game in their respective matches.

Patrick Jones (Bristol, Tenn.) and Eiki Magnusson (Reykjavick, Iceland) were also perfect in singles without losing a game. Between the other four Tornado singles' matches just 12 games were lost.
