King overtaken twice at NCCAA Men's Tennis Nationals

MOBILE, Ala. – King College started the 2011 NCCAA Men's Tennis National Championship with two defeats in pool play Tuesday, a 5-2 decision against Campbellsville (Ky.) University before a 5-1 score against Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University.

King will close out pool play Wednesday against Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College with a 10 a.m. contest. Campbellsville and Palm Beach Atlantic will play at 10 a.m. to determine seeding for the semifinals. Palm Beach Atlantic entered the 2011 event as defending national champion.

The Tornado got the lead after doubles in the Campbellsville contest 2-1. Palm Beach Atlantic jumped out to the 2-1 lead thanks to doubles' play.

Tuesday's result against Campbellsville marked the second straight season that King played the squad at the NCCAA event with Campbellsville winning 5-4 in 2010.

In other pool play action Tuesday Campbellsville and Palm Beach Atlantic both defeated Roberts Wesleyan.
