King falls to Cumberland

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's tennis team opened their spring season Saturday afternoon against Cumberland University. The Tornado battled hard but fell to Cumberland 7-2.

FINAL SCORE: Cumberland 7, King 2
LOCATION: LMU Tennis Complex; Harrogate, Tenn.


  • In singles, Lenny Keswani defeated Pau Grabuleda 6-4, 7-5 to give the Tornado their only singles victory on the day.
  • In the second flight, Lennard Neumann fell 1-6, 6-3, 10-5 while Arturo Alfaro fell 6-4, 6-1 in the third flight.
  • Noah Baker fell 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth flight while Sebastian Lieflaender lost 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth flight.
  • Closing out the singles matches was Charles Jabaley who fell 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 in the sixth flight.
  • In doubles, the duo of Neumann and Feliciano won 8-4 in the first flight to give the Tornado their only doubles victory of the day.
  • Keswani and Alfaro fell 8-6 in the second doubles flight, while Lieflaender and Jabaley fell 8-1 in their doubles match.


  • King travels to Young Harris, Georgia to take on Young Harris College Sunday February 18 at 2:00 pm.
