    Seven Tornado athletes named USTFCCCA All-Region BRISTOL, Tenn. – With the outdoor track and field season nearly complete, seven King University athletes have earned USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region honors. Three Tornado women’s athletes garnered recognition while four men earned the distinction that was headlined by Justin Newring, Brent Swiney and Maegan Henry.

    King places 16 on academic all-conference track & field teams BRISTOL, Tenn. – As we near the Conference Carolinas Track and Field Championships, the league has awarded their academic all-conference lists. The Tornado had 10 women that made the team and six men for a total of 16 honorees.

    Swiney sets another school record at Liberty Invite LYNCHBURG, Va. – Brent Swiney continues to set school records for the King University men’s track and field team during the outdoor season. The sophomore broke his own mark in the 800 meters this weekend at the Liberty Collegiate Invite. Six other personal records fell at the meet for the Tornado, including three for Andy Lai.

    Swiney sets 1500 meter school record for second straight week RALEIGH, N.C. – King University men’s track and field runner Brent Swiney traveled to Raleigh to run in the highly competitive 1500 meter race at the Raleigh Relays. The sophomore nearly set an NCAA provision time, finishing in 3:54.45.

A total of 16 Tornado student-athletes were honored as 10 women’s and six men’s track and field athletes earned recognition.

    Newring posts NCAA provisional time in season opener BOONE, N.C. – The King University men’s track & field team started the season on a high note at the Appalachian Invitational hosted by Appalachian State University. The Tornado finished first among six non NCAA Division II teams, and Justin Newring highlighted the day as he posted a provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in the 200 meter dash.
