Tornado finish fourth at Conference Championship

CONCORD, N.C. – The King University men's cross country team competed at the conference championships on Friday afternoon.  The team finished fourth overall and was led by James Russell-Ballowe's 16th place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Russell Ballowe finished 16th with a time of 27:15.9 to lead the way for King.
  • Crossing the finish line next for the Tornado was Daniel Kovalchick with a time of 27:53.7.
  • Close behind was Charles Ramos who posted a time of 28:06.1.
  • Next to finish for King was Morgan Greene with a time of 29:07.8. Following him was teammate Kyle Hart who recorded a time of 29:07.8.
  • Cameron Waldon crossed the finish line with a time of 30:26.7. Tyler Edwards rounded out the squad with a time of 30:46.1.

FOR THE FOES

  • The University of Mount Olive took the conference title, placing seven runners in the top 10.
  • Johathan Dahlke of Mount Olive won the individual title with a time of 26:14.5.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Kovalchick and Hart both set 8k personal records with their times in this event.

  • King will be in action again on November 5th at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Wingate, N.C.
