Lady Tornado Softball squad gets five signees from Tennessee
BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College head softball coach Jenn Testa recently announced her 2010 signings from the state of Tennessee which includes five players from the Volunteer state.
Rachael Wilmoth graduated from Morristown East High School where she was a member of the All-conference, All-Lakeway and All-Northeast Tennessee squads her junior and senior seasons. She added the Lakeway Pitcher of the Year honor this past season where she added all-district. At the highly competitive Eastman Tournament in 2010 she earned all-tournament honors and was selected to play in the Tennessee/Virginia All-Star Game.
Emilee Lovette, from Unicoi County High alum, earned all-tournament honors in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She added all-conference honors her junior and senior season. Lovette also was an All-Northeast Tennessee selection her final two seasons.
Tiffany Brand played at Powell High where she started four seasons. In her senior season she earned all-district and all-tournament team nods.
Brianna Branson and Alex Morris also signed with King from nearby Sullivan East High.
The Lady Tornado finished the 2010 season with a trip to the NCCAA World Series where the team finished tied for fifth. King posted a record of 22-17 which was the third straight 20-win season in the program's six-year history.
