Light named second team All-Southeast Region
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Along with her conference accolades, King University softball pitcher Hannah Light earned All-Southeast Region recognition this week. Light was named to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region second team after leading Conference Carolinas in wins and strikeouts.

King softball summer camp dates announced
BRISTOL, Tenn. - King University head softball coach Jenn Testa has announced the dates for the summer camps at King. There will be four different sections, starting with hitting and youth camps in the middle of June. The camps will end with pitcher/catcher and advanced skills camps at the end of the month.

Tornado fall to Mount Olive in extras
BURLINGTON, N.C. – The top two seeds of the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament squared off in an elimination game that turned into a pitcher’s duel on Sunday morning. Neither no. 2 Mount Olive College, nor top seed King University wanted to give in as the game went to the 10th inning with no score. The Trojans finally broke through in the 10th to take the pitcher’s duel 2-0.

Smith keeps Tornado alive with two-run single
BURLINGTON, N.C. – Following a marathon 12 inning loss, the King University softball faced Pfeiffer University in an elimination game. The Tornado finally broke into the scoring column in the sixth inning on a Hannah Smith single as King staved off elimination with a 2-0 victory.

Tornado drop pitcher's duel to Coker
BURLINGTON, N.C. – The King University softball team took on Coker College in a Conference Carolinas winners bracket game that turned into a pitcher’s duel. Neither team could get any offense until Coker pushed across a run in the 12th inning to escape with a 1-0 victory.

Light highlights King's all-conference awards
BRISTOL, Tenn. – After winning the regular season Conference Carolinas championship, four King University softball players earned all-conference recognition. Hannah Light was named Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year, and first team all-conference. Cassie Ringstaff and Christina Melcher joined her on the first team while Fallon Thomas earned second team honors.

Tornado sneak past Pfeiffer in CC Tournament first game
BURLINGTON, N.C. – The top seed King University softball team opened the Conference Carolinas Tournament with a narrow win over Pfeiffer University. The Tornado plated the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat the eighth seeded Falcons 2-1.

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Due to a rain, the first day of the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament has been postponed. The tournament will resume on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. following the awards banquet.

Tornado cap regular season with sweep of Erskine
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Having already clinched the Conference Carolinas regular season championship, the King University softball team hosted Erskine College to close out the regular season. The Tornado needed extra innings to take the first game 2-1 before winning game two 6-2 for the sweep.

Tornado sweep Belmont Abbey, clinch Conference Carolinas title
BELMONT, N.C. – After sweeping Limestone yesterday, the King University softball team knew they could clinch at least a share of the Conference Carolinas regular season championship with one win at Belmont Abbey College on Sunday or win the title outright with two wins. The Tornado took a narrow 2-1 victory in game one, and followed it with a 4-0 win in game two, clinching their first Conference Carolinas regular season championship.

Melcher homers twice, leads King to sweep at Limestone
GAFFNEY, S.C. – Coming into the day, the King University softball team led Limestone College by one game in the Conference Carolinas standings, making Saturday’s doubleheader that much more crucial in terms of the conference title. After taking the first game 4-3, Christina Melcher lifted the Tornado to the sweep with a pair of home runs in game two, the second one in the eighth inning of the 4-1 win.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - In their annual game at the Stateline Classic, the King University softball team took a narrow win over Virginia Intermont College. Hannah Light tossed a five-hit shutout, and Hannah Smith hit a two-run home run to give the Tornado the 2-0 win.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - In a key Conference Carolinas series, the King University softball team swept Coker College on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Bristol. Hannah Light tossed a four-hit shutout in King's 5-0 game-one victory, and Tornado came from behind to take game two 7-2 to stay near the top of the conference standings.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Playing their first home game in nearly three weeks, the King University softball team took on Queens University. The Tornado had to come from behind in game one as Hannah Smith drove in both King runs in the 2-1 victory. King had to come back again in game two, but the Royals bounced back to take the 6-3 win in eight innings.

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Cassie Ringstaff gave the King University softball team a 4-1 win in game one at Lees-McRae College with a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning. The Tornado used that momentum to take the sweep with a 9-1 victory in the night cap.

GREENVILLE, Tenn. – The King University softball team suffered a pair of heartbreaking losses at Tusculum College on Monday night. The teams played a two eight inning games with Tusculum winning game one 4-3 and game two 11-10.

WISE, Va. – The King University softball team stayed on the road for a non-conference doubleheader with the University of Virginia-Wise. The Tornado swept the double dip from the Cavaliers, taking game one 8-3, and following with an 11-9 victory in eight innings.

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The King University softball team jumped out of conference play to face Lincoln Memorial University on the road. The Tornado came out and took game one 7-5 behind 13 hits from their offense. However, the Railsplitters bounced back to take a 6-2 come-from-behind victory in game two.

AMERICUS, Ga. – The King University softball team dropped game one of a nonconference doubleheader at Georgia Southwestern State University, but the Tornado rebounded to take game two. The Hurricanes took game one, but won game two 2-0 behind a complete game shutout by Hannah Light.

WILSON, N.C. – The King University softball team rebounded from Saturday’s losses to sweep Barton College on Sunday. The Tornado combined for 23 hits and 16 runs to take both games from the Bulldogs. King took game one 5-3 before cruising to an 11-3 victory in the second game.
