King still among best in NCAA DII Women's Basketball stats

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College owned seven Top-100 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Stat Rankings, the national office announced.

The highest team category was in the free throw percentage at No. 35. King's 73.9 percent at the line kept the team in the Top-40.

The Lady Tornado added a No. 87 steals per game ranking with a 9.8 average, up 33 spots from last week.

King had the No. 73 ranking in assists per game with 14.6.

Individually the highest ranking came from Ashley Deans (Greeneville, Tenn.) at No. 25 in free throw percentage with an 85.1 mark. She was also No. 76 in points per game with 16.5 and No. 79 in field goal percentage at 47.9. She moved up five places in the field goal percentage rankings.

Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.) was No. 53 in the steals per game category with 2.5, a 22 spot climb.

Next for King will be the NCAA Division II Independent Tournament hosted by the University of the District of Columbia from Feb. 25 to 27. The Lady Tornado will take a 9-15 record to the event.
