INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - King College owned seven Top-100 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Stat Rankings, the national office announced.
Once again Ashley Deans had three of King's Top-100 rankings led by the No. 34 spot in free-throw percentage at 84.3. She was No. 77 in scoring with 16.5 points per game, a two-spot climb. Deans also was No. 78 in field-goal percentage at 47.9 which was the same mark as last week just down one place.
Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.) moved to No. 67 in steals per game with 2.4.
A 73.9 free-throw percentage had the Lady Tornado at No. 39. King's 14.5 assists per game was good enough for No. 76. New this week was the team's 5.7 three-point field goals per game which was at No. 98. A week ago King was No. 127 in that category. The Lady Tornado moved out of the Top-100 in steals per game to No. 107, down from No. 85 a week earlier.
King, at 11-16, will be a part of the NCCAA Mid-East Region Tournament March 11-12 in Lookout Mountain, Ga. The bracket has not been finalized as the Lady Tornado look to defend the 2010 championship and earn a return trip to the NCCAA Division I National Tournament on March 17-19.
