Cedarville Hands King 85-49 Loss at Waterman Classic

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – In the second day of the 10th Annual Ben Waterman Classic, King College matched up against Cedarville University and was handed an 85-49 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Tornado struggled shooting the three ball in the loss, falling to 0-6 on the young season.
 

Post players Allison Bosse (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Kalen Collins (Wise, Va.) led the Tornado in scoring. Bosse led the team with 13 points and added a trio of rebounds. She shot 5-of-9 from the field and went 3-for-4 from the charity stripe in 26 minutes of play. Collins also hit five shots from the field on eight attempts while leading the team with eight rebounds, five on the offensive end. She finished with 12 points, her second game over double-digit scoring this season.

Cedarville began the game on a 12-2 run but King quickly brought the game back within five points, holding that margin will into the first half. The Yellow Jackets ended the first half on an 18-5 run to take a 44-26 lead into halftime. Fifteen of Cedarville's 44 points came off of turnovers and was supported by 59 percent shooting from the field.

King (0-6, 0-1) attempted a comeback behind 14 three-point shot attempts of their 26 total second half shot, however struggled from behind the arc. King went 1-for-14 from distance in the second half and a combined 2-for-22 in the attempt but fell short. The Tornado were outscored 41-23 in the second half, falling 85-49 in the end.

The Tornado end their six-game road trip to begin the season and will play at home for the first time this season in a regional game against Mars Hill on Dec. 6. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Student Center Complex. They will follow with a second home game against Lincoln Memorial University on Dec. 10 at 5:00 p.m. from the Student Center.
