BRISTOL, Tenn. – The calendar turns to March on Saturday, which means the college basketball season heats up. The King University men's and women's basketball teams will both host Conference Carolinas Tournament games in win-or-go-home contests Saturday night at the Student Center Complex.
The Tornado women earned the fourth seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 10-8 mark in league play and 16-10 overall record. They will tip off at their usual 5:30 p.m., slot against eight Barton College or rival Lees-McRae College. The seedings will be finalized on Thursday night after the Erskine College-Pfeiffer University contest.
The King men earned the third seed, only one game out of first place with a Conference Carolinas record of 11-5 and overall mark of 14-12. The Tornado will tip off following the women's game at approximately 7:30 p.m., in the Student Center. King will face either Erskine College or North Greenville University, depending on the outcome of the Erskine-Pfeiffer game on Thursday night.
The Conference Carolinas Tournament "Final Four" will be played a Cabarrus Arena in Concord, N.C., on March 5-6.
