Elizabeth Swallow Named Conference Female Golfer of the Week

Freshman Elizabeth Swallow's performances in her first two tournaments of the season have granted her Conference Carolinas Female Golfer of the Week honors.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas announced this week's men's and women's golf and cross country Players of the Week on Tuesday. Among the honorees for week six is King's Elizabeth Swallow of the women's golf team.

Freshman Elizabeth Swallow (Berkshire, England) has led the Lady Tornado in both of their tournaments this season and has two top-10 finishes to show for her effort. At the Tusculum Fall Classic, held at Link Hills Country Club (Greeneville, Tenn.), she shot a 156 (80-76), good for 10th out of a field of 62 players.

Swallow returned two weeks later at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate with a 75-78-153; good for tenth place overall. Her score helped the team to a tie for seventh place overall at Sea Trails Golf Club.

Though not counted toward the voting of this award, Swallow most recently finished in a tie for fourth place overall at King's home tournament, the King College Invitational at the Bristol Country Club (Bristol, Tenn). Her score added to the Lady Tornado's second place overall finish. Swallow now has three top-10 finishes to her young Tornado career, including one top-five finish.

King will play in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on Oct. 15-16 at the Country Club of Salisbury, located in Salisbury, N.C. The tournament will be hosted by Catawba College.
