Swallow in 2nd, King 4th after first round of Hilton Head Lakes Invite

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – It may be spring break, but the King University women's golf team turned in a solid first round of the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational. The Tornado are in fourth place after posting a score of 327 while Elizabeth Swallow is in second place with her first round of 76.

Swallow carded identical 38's on the both the front and back nine's for a total of 76. She is just one stroke behind the leader who shot 75. Cortnee Young Followed Swallowed with a first round score of 82, shooting 43 on the front nine, and 39 on the back.

Karissa King and Anna Walker weren't far behind as they carded scores of 84 and 85, respectively. Kerby Jones rounded out the squad with a 92.

King is in fourth with one round left after shooting 327 in the opening round. Limestone College and the University of Montevallo are leading the tournament after posting first round scores of 317. Wingate University is third at 318.

The tournament concludes tomorrow at Hilton Head Lakes Golf Club.
