Swallow leads Conference Carolinas Championships after first round

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Just as she has been all season, Elizabeth Swallow is leading the King University women's golf team. That hasn't changed in the Conference Carolinas Championships as the sophomore is tied atop the leaderboard after the first round. The Tornado posted a score of 332, and are in fifth with two rounds to play.

Swallow finished the first round with a round of three-over, 75 and is tied at the top of the leaderboard with Krysta Schaus of Erskine College. Anna Walker followed Swallow for the Tornado, shooting 82 while Kerby Jones shot 86 in the first round.

Cortnee Young and Karissa King rounded out the squad, shooting 89 and 97, respectively.

After the first round of the three-round tournament, King is in fifth of nine Conference Carolinas teams after shooting 332. Limestone College leads the event after shooting 309 in the first round while the University of Mount Olive is second at 317.

The second round will be played on Monday at Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C.
