King placed No. 6 in preseason NCAA Division II Super Region II rating

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King College men's wrestling team starts the season ranked No. 6 in the NCAA Division II Super Region II Preseason Coaches Ranking, the organization announced.

King, a first-year NCAA Division II member, was just behind Limestone (S.C.) College who rounded out the Top-5. Atop the standing was six-time and defending NCAA Division II National Champion Nebraska Omaha. The University of Findlay (Ohio) was No. 2, followed by the University of Central Oklahoma and Ashland (Ohio) University in the third and fourth spots.

Behind King was Belmont Abbey (N.C.) College at No. 7. The University of Central Missouri, Truman State (Mo.) University and Tiffin (Ohio) University were ranked No. 8 to No. 10, respectively.

King has Limestone and Belmont Abbey on the schedule for dual matches this season. The Limestone meeting is scheduled for Jan. 17 with a home match against Belmont Abbey on Feb. 9.

The NCAA Division II Super Region II Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 26 in Findlay, Ohio, where the Top-4 from each weight class earns trips to the NCAA Division II National Championship March 11-12 in Kearney, Neb.

This is the first season for King to compete as a NCAA Division II member under the direction of fifth-year head coach Nate Moorman.

The ranking was based on a regional committee.

The 2010-11 schedule starts for the Tornado on Nov. 7 with the Hokie Open in Salem, Va.
