Wentt, Miller selected to DII All-Academic wrestling team

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Two members of the King University men's wrestling team were named to the 2012-13 NCAA Division II All-Academic wrestling team. Trevor Wentt earned second team honors with a 4.0 grade point average (GPA), and Jeremy Miller was an honorable mention selection with a 3.42 GPA.

Wentt, a junior, was one of only three all-academic team members to have a perfect 4.0 GPA. A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Wentt is majoring in Visual and Performance Arts. He finished last season with a 5-11 record, but won two of his final three matches.

Miller was selected to the honorable mention team, completing his sophomore season with a 3.42 GPA. The Madison, Tenn., native has yet to decide a major and compiled a 9-10 record in his second season at King. His best performance of the season may have come at the Wolfpack Open where he turned in a third place finish.

The All-Academic wrestling team was voted on by members of the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. Student-athletes needed to have a minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA in order to be nominated to the Division II All-Academic team. He also must be in at least his second full year at the school and be a member of the varsity team, or a key reserve.
