Tornado drop narrow decision to Limestone

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's wrestling team hosted their first dual of the season as they took on Limestone College on Wednesday night. The Tornado fell behind early, but made a late comeback to pull within four with two bouts left. King got another pin in the final bout, but fell 22-21 to the Saints.

Limestone (6-5) took an early 3-0 lead with a victory at 125 pounds, but the Tornado (1-2) came back to even the score at 3-3 when Cullen King took a narrow 4-3 win over Kyle Lowe at 133 pounds. After a pair of Limestone wins at 141 and 149, JA Jones got King back on the board at 157 pounds. Jones pinned Storm Nelson in 2:40 to pull the Tornado back within 12-9.

Again, the Saints earned back-to-back victories before Blaike Henry won via a second period pin in 4:33 at 184 pounds over David Kieta. Justin Tribble extended Limestone's lead to 22-15 with a narrow 2-0 win at 197 pounds before Garrett Fosdyck ended the dual with a bang. The heavyweight pinned Jeremiah Parker in 2:30 to make the final score 22-21 in favor of the Saints.

King is back in action again on Saturday when they host Anderson University at 3:00 p.m. in the Student Center Complex.
