Fosdyck named one of Division II's "Most Dominant"

BRISTOL, Tenn. – On Wednesday, USA Wrestling released their weekly award standings, and the King University men's wrestlers were named. Garrett Fosdyck was named one of the Most Dominant wrestlers in NCAA Division II while JA Jones and D'Marcus Spencer are among Division II's Fall Leaders.

Fosdyck, a redshirt sophomore from Mathews, Va., ranked fifth in the top-10 of Division II's Most Dominant with an average of 3.7143. The heavyweight has posted a record of 18-9 this season, going 7-5 in decisions, 3-2 in major decisions and 4-2 on falls. He won his only tiebreaker, and has one pin, which came against Limestone College on January 15, this season. University of Indianapolis' Alex Johns is atop Division II's most dominant with an average of 4.5714.

The Most Dominant Wrestler standings are calculated by adding the total number of points awarded through match results and dividing that number by the total number of matches wrestled. Points awarded per match are as follows:

*Fall, forfeit, injury default or DQ = 6 points (-6 points for a loss)
*Tech falls = 5 points (-5 points for a loss)
* Major decision = 4 points (-4 points for a loss)
*Decision = 3 points (-3 points for a loss)

In the fall standings, Jones ranks seventh and Spencer is 10th. Jones, a sophomore from Alabaster, Ala., is 10-6 on the season and has recorded seven falls this season at 165 pounds. A redshirt junior from Indianapolis, Ind., Spencer has registered six falls this season at 133 pounds. He also has an overall record of 19-5. Edwin Cooper of Upper Iowa University is the nation's leader with eight falls this season.

The Tornado are in action again on Saturday when they travel to Newberry College for the Super Region II Duals on Saturday. King will face University of Findlay at 10:30 a.m., Indianapolis at 12:00 p.m., Tiffin University at 3:00 p.m., and Shippensbrug University at 4:30 p.m.
