BRISTOL, Tenn. – In the latest NCAA Most Dominant Wrestlers standings, King University's JA Jones and D'Marcus Spencer are near the top of Division II's leaders in falls. Jones actually leads all of Division II and Spencer ranks fifth.
Last weekend, Jones took a pair of wins by fall in King's victories over Ohio Valley University and Coker College. Earlier in the week, the Alabaster, Ala., native took a win by fall in King's win at Belmont Abbey College. With his last three wins being by fall, Jones now has a remarkable 14-1 record in matches decided by fall to sit atop the Division II fall standings. Jones also ranks seventh on the list of Division II's most dominant wrestlers.
Spencer ranks fifth in all of Division II with nine, falls, and is 9-0 in bouts decided by fall. Last week, the junior took two of his three wins by fall, defeating Belmont Abbey's Gabe Pastirik in 1:50 and Ohio Valley's Cory Parsons in 28 seconds.
The duo along with the rest of the Tornado will be in action again on Sunday at the Maryville College (Mo.) Duals in their final preparation for the NCAA Division II Regionals on March 1-2.
