BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College used a Maggie Lynskey overtime goal for a 1-0 victory over nearby Milligan (Tenn.) College Tuesday in front of the home crowd.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College used a Maggie Lynskey overtime goal for a 1-0 victory over nearby Milligan (Tenn.) College Tuesday in front of the home crowd.

 Lynskey, a senior from Chattanooga, Tenn., attempted eight shots in the opening 90 minutes before she delivered the ball into the upper left corner of the net at the 93:21 mark unassisted. It was her third goal of the season and first game winner.

The win boosted King's record to 4-10 while Milligan slipped to 7-5-2. The contest was the third straight 1-0 score in the series as the Lady Tornado won this season and the 2008 meeting.

In goal for the Lady Tornado Abbey Kitts (Tazewell, Va.) recorded one save in the team's first shutout of the season. It had been 15 matches since King posted a shutout, a 1-0 win at North Greenville (S.C.) University on Nov. 12, 2009.

Overall King had a season-high 31 shots with 19 on goal. The Lady Tornado booted 18 shots in the first half, eight on goal, with 11 shots in the second half, 10 on goal. Milligan just had three shots.

King travels to play at No. 17 Belmont-Abbey (N.C.) College Saturday at 1 p.m.
