Shankle scores NCCAA weekly award

GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College's Hannah Shankle was given the NCCAA Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week honor by the national office.

Shankle, a junior forward from Bristol, Va., scored two goals in King's three matches at the NCCAA National Championship. Her first score was in the first round against No. 1 Spring Arbor (Mich.) University, King's only goal of the match. The next day against Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) Univeristy she put King out front with a goal and later provided an assist on her sister's insurance goal.

King ended the NCCAA Nationals in sixth after winning the NCCAA Mid-East Region Championship. The Lady Tornado posted an overall record of 8-14 this season.

She became the second Lady Tornado to win the weekly award this season joining Abbey Kitts (Tazewell, Tenn.) who won the award two weeks ago.
