Shelton Named Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
BRISTOL, Tenn. – In a release from the conference office, King College women's soccer player Morgan Shelton was named Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Player of the Week. The announcement comes following the conclusion of week one action.
Shelton, a senior from Chattanooga, Tenn., scored both goals against Brevard in the Tornado's 2-0 victory on Saturday, Sept. 3. Her first goal came just past the seven-minute mark of the first half after her shot deflected of a BC defender and nestled into the goal. In the 75th minute, Shelton played a ball off her left foot, lofting it over the keepers head to help give King some cushion in the victory. Of the team's 12 shots, Shelton took seven and landed five on goal.
Shelton and the Tornado next play Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Harrogate, Tennessee before opening the conference slate at home against Limestone on Saturday, Sept. 10.
