BRISTOL, Tenn. -- King and Lees-McRae will play their first round Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament match at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29. The start time has been changed due to incoming weather in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Lady Tornado (4-9-2, 3-6-2 Conference Carolinas) earned a tournament berth as a result of Coker College and Erskine College both losing their respective regular season finale matches on Saturday afternoon. King has lost its last three contests but have held the competition to one goal in two of those games. One of those 1-0 losses came at the hands of the Bobcats on Oct. 23. In that game, freshman goalkeeper Morgan Lawson (Goodview, Va.) made 10 saves on 11 attempts against.
The winner of the King/Lees-McRae opening round match will play the winner of No. 5 Queens (N.C.) and No. 4 Pfeiffer on Nov. 1 at the home of the higher remaining seed. The Conference Carolinas championship match will be held on Nov. 3, also held at the higher seed's home field.
