BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas announced its complete list of postseason accolades, including its All-Conference teams. Senior midfielder Heidi Steger was named to the All-Conference Second Team for her part in King's success in 2012. This is the second straight season she has earned an all-conference selection.
Steger, a Chattanooga, Tenn. native, started all 16 games for the Lady Tornado and was a mainstay both defensively and offensively. She was tied for the team lead with three goals on the season, two of them serving as game-winners in 1-0 victories against Coker and Erskine College. She also had one assist on the year, totaling seven points in her senior campaign. All her scoring was done in conference play en route to helping King to a 4-10-2 overall record.
King finished the year with a conference record of 3-6-2 (11 points) and advanced to the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament for the second straight season as the No. 8 seed. Steger was a part of a team that pitched five shutouts and allowed 18 goals in the regular season, the second-fewest in the league.
