King to host Winter Skills Camp in February

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Head coach Simon Duffy has announced that the women's soccer program will be hosting a Winter Skills camp on Saturday, February 8. Players from the ages of 12-18 are encouraged to participate in the camp that will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The camp will include a pair of sessions, as well as meetings with the parents and players and a tour of the King University campus. It will also provide an opportunity for local and regional players to showcase their talents while also learning new technical and tactical skills.

To register for the Winter Skills Camp, contact women's soccer assistant coach Danny McBride at dmcbride@king.edu. The registration fee for the camp is $60.

"This camp was definitely a success for us last year," Duffy said. "Two of our 2014 incoming freshmen were identified at this camp last February and we hope that this trend will continue"

Schedule for the Camp:

9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.: Registration in the Student Center Complex

10:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.: Parent and player meeting/ Presentation

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Session 1 - Game Field

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Lunch (not provided) - You may bring lunch or leave with parents to eat nearby.

1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Campus Tour & College/Recruitment Q & A.

2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Session 2 – Game field

4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Camp Wrap up- Game field

+ Parents & Families may be present at both sessions and/or during the campus tour.  We would encourage parents to attend the College/Recruitment Q&A.
