BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women’s swimming and diving team has been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for its excellent work in the classroom during the 2013-2014 academic year.
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – After the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships finally got underway on Friday, the King University women’s swimming and diving team turned in top time after top time. Melissa Smith won the 1 meter diving competition with a school record while the Tornado set five other school records along with a plethora of personal bests. The Tornado finished sixth of 13 teams at the event with 267 points.
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – With all the snow that has fallen, the start Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships have been postponed. The championships were supposed to start on Thursday, but the teams will kickoff competition this afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The King University women’s swimming and diving team took a split with Union College and Bethel University on Sunday, but Kelsey Wiese set a school record in the process. King defeated Bethel 105-24, and fell to Union 129-55 as Wiese broke her own school record in the 50 yard freestyle.
BRISTOL, Va. – Using a school record diving performance from senior Melissa Smith and a dominant performance from the Tornado swimmers, the King University women’s swimming and diving team defeated Appalachian Swimming Conference foe Warren Wilson College 124-76 at Virginia High School on Friday night.
BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University freshman Nicole Maldonado has been named the Appalachian Swimming Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week after her best personal performance of the season in a dual meet against Emory & Henry College on Friday night.
ABINGDON, Va. – The King University women’s swimming & diving team stayed close to home to take on Emory & Henry College at the Coomes Center in Abingdon on Friday evening. The Tornado fell 149-95, but Olivia Langford and Nicole Maldonado both set personal bests while the 400 yard freestyle relay team set a new school record.
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The King University women’s swimming and diving team came away with a pair of victories Friday night, defeating Pfeiffer University 77-44 and Milligan College 81-39 in a meet hosted by Milligan.
SEWANEE, Tenn. – The King University women’s swimming and diving team finished fourth of eight teams at the Sewanee Invitational on Friday and Saturday, scoring 408 points and defeating Mars Hill College for the first time in school history.
FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University women’s swimming & diving team took a road win, 112-69 over Emmanuel College on Saturday afternoon. Nicole Maldonado set a new school record in the 200 yard freestyle, and the Tornado set four personal records in all.
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The King University women’s swimming & diving team took on local rival Milligan College on Wednesday evening and they came away with their third victory of the season. The Tornado took a 100-93 decision from the home standing Buffaloes.
GAFFNEY, S.C. – The King University women’s swimming & diving team competed at the Conference Carolinas meet, and nearly set a pair of school records on Friday afternoon. The Tornado finished fourth at the meet with a total of 17 points.
GAINSVILLE, Ga. – The King University women’s swimming & diving team opened their season with a pair of wins at Brenau University. The Tornado topped Thomas College 55-29 and Milligan College 48-46, but fell to hosts Brenau 73-21 to open the 2013-14 season.
BRISTOL, Tenn. – With most of its top performers returning from a season ago, the women’s swimming and diving team looks to improve upon its sixth-place finish at the Appalachian Swimming Conference finals last year.
