MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The King University women's swimming & diving team took on local rival Milligan College on Wednesday evening and they came away with their third victory of the season. The Tornado took a 100-93 decision from the home standing Buffaloes.
The Tornado took first in six events while finishing second in five others. The duo of Nicole Maldonado and Jade Schroeder turned in 1-2 performances in each the 200 meter freestyle and the 100 meter freestyle. Maldonado won both events with times of 2:14.91 in the 200 free and 1:00.14 in the 100 free while Schroeder posted times of 2:25.07 in the 200 free and 1:05.88 in the 100 free.
Olivia Langford finished first in three events, the 800 meter freestyle (9:53.55), the 200 meter individual medley (2:38.00) and the 400 meter freestyle with a time of 4:58.89. Kelsey Wiese accounted for the final first place finish, winning the 50 meter freestyle with a time of 28.49 seconds.
Wiese also finished second in the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:12.72 while Rachel Fuller took a pair of second place finishes. Fuller finished the 100 meter butterfly in 1:10.91 and the 400 meter freestyle in 5:07.89 to take second in both events.
King will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on Emmanuel College. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
