BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's swimming and diving team has been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for its excellent work in the classroom during the 2013-2014 academic year.
The Tornado swim team achieved Scholar All American status for the 2013 fall semester, one of 58 NCAA Division II schools honored by the CSCAA. In order to be named a Scholar All American, a team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Tornado swimmers compiled a team GPA of 3.07 during the fall 2013 semester.
"I think it's a fantastic award, and the girls definitely earned it through their hard work in the classroom," said head coach John Connor. "I'm tickled to death to get an honor like this. It's a great acknowledgement for our program."
King's season concluded with the Appalachian Swimming Conference championship meet in February. The Tornado finished sixth in the ASC and set four school records during the course of the season.
