Mount Olive sweeps Tornado

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University women's tennis team returned to Conference Carolinas play with a duel match at Mount Olive College, and the Trojans came away with a 9-0 victory.

Mount Olive (8-5, 5-3 CC) took control of the match early with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles and an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. King (0-11, 0-5 CC) only had four players, so the Trojans won the No. 3 doubles match by default to take a 3-0 lead.

In singles play, Naomi Reyes fell 6-3, 6-1 to Molly Sue Lentini at No. 1 while Mariana Hosomi dropped her No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-3 to Francesca Ceppi. At No. 3 singles, Mount Olive's Roxanne Chouinard took a 6-1, 6-0 win over Karissa King, and Amanda Huffaker fell at No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-2 to Maite Belloso.

King will be in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Lees-McRae College. The duel match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
