Bulldogs top Tornado 8-1

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team returned home to take on Barton College, and the Bulldogs came away with an 8-1 victory.

At No. 1 doubles, the duo of Mariana Hosomi and Naomi Reyes nearly took a win from Lindsey Frederick and Meredith Pruden, but the Bulldog pair earned a 9-7 win. Barton (9-6, 6-4 CC) took the final two matches to take a 3-0 advantage.

King (0-13, 0-7 CC) tried to rebound in singles play as Karissa King took a 6-2, 6-3 in over Kristy Lievense at No. 3 singles. Hosomi played a very tight match at No. 2 singles with Alicia Lasry. However, Lasry came out with the 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8 victory to seal the 8-1 Barton victory.

The Tornado will be in action again tomorrow when they host Limestone College at 2:00 p.m.
