Royals top King 8-1

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team hosted Queens University on Saturday at the King Tennis Complex, and the Royals came away with an 8-1 win.

Queens (11-3, 7-2 CC) took command of the duel match early with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles and 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Mariana Hosomi defeated Farina Rafiq 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. However, that was the only win King (0-17, 0-10 CC) would get. Queens took the No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-2 and No. 4 single match 6-0, 6-0 while taking the other three matches by default.

The Tornado play their final home match of the season on Sunday when they host Belmont Abbey College at 2:00 p.m.
