Tornado fall to Belmont Abbey to end season

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team wrapped up their season with a home duel match against Belmont Abbey College. The Tornado took three singles victories, but the Crusaders won the duel match 6-3.

Belmont Abbey (2-15, 2-8 CC) won the No. 1 doubles match 8-2, and Bridget Franer and Paige French took a come-from-behind 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles.

Amanda Huffaker got the Tornado (0-18, 0-11 CC) on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Abby Poetker at No. 4 singles. Karissa King won her final match in a King uniform 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 over Paige French at No. 3 singles and Mariana Hosomi defeated Brooke Ingram 6-3, 5-7, 10-3 at No. 2 singles. However, the Crusaders took the final three singles matches to win the duel match 6-3.

The Tornado end the season with a 0-18 record, and 0-11 mark in Conference Carolinas play.
