#28 Flying Fleet top King 9-0

DUE WEST, S.C. – The King University women's tennis team returned to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when they took on the nation's 28th- ranked team, Erskine College. The Flying Fleet set the tone early, and took the dual 9-0.

The No. 2 doubles team of Mariana Hosomi and Naomi Reyes dropped a close 8-4 decision to Miranda Guthrie and Sarah McDonald. The Flying Fleet (7-3, 4-0 CC) took a 3-0 lead over King (6-8, 1-3 CC) after doubles play.

In singles play, Reyes fell to Guthrie 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 2 slot, and Hosomi dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Mika Goyette at No. 3 singles.

The Tornado will be in action again on March 18 when they host Lees-McRae at 2:00 p.m.
